With the new door we upgraded the locks, using a new Kwikset electronic lock and matching dead-bolt. 

We’ve liked this set-up so much that when I ordered the locks for my mother-in-law I got her matching Kwikset electronic entry and deadbolt locks. 

On our home the deadbolt is the electronic lock, but due to how the holes were bored in my mother-in-law’s front door I opted to make the entry set the electronic lock, as it would be a better fit.

She’s used to just using the entry lock to lock her door when she’s home (she didn’t even do that until after her husband passed recently). 

The new locks replaced miss-matched brands of locks; in fact I went through all of her home’s locks and re-keyed them to match the new Kwiksets.

So, she now only needs to have one key to open every door in her home! 

Well the Kwikset locks came with everything necessary to do the install, plus the new SmartKey re-keying feature on new Kwikset locks made it extremely easy to re-key the deadbolt to match the entry lock set.

The new electronic lock set is quite well-made, easy to install and program, and the price is very affordable.
